Under the leadership of experts from the Department of Water Management of the SvF STU in Slovakia, international project ReBioClim started, which is aimed at restoring urban watercourses as a tool for promoting biodiversity, improving the quality of life in cities and increasing their resistance to climate change.
In Slovakia, the pilot location is the Teplica flow in Senica, in the central part of the city park. Over the past year, analyzes of the current situation and hydrological, ecological and urban assessment of the territory were carried out. At present, our experts have drawn up proposals for revitalization measures, and in the following period their implementation in the field will be followed. In addition to the professional public, the outputs of the project will also be directed towards residents in the form of popularization activities and participatory processes.
The project together with experts from the Department of Water Management of the SVF STU in Bratislava cooperates 12 partner institutions from various European countries. It is interdisciplinary cooperation between water management experts, ecology, urbanism and social sciences.
The ReBioClim project is supported by Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE programme and co -financed from the European Regional Development Fund. The period of implementation is March 2024 to February 2027. The responsible solver for the SvF STU is doc. Ing. Andrej Škrinár, PhD.
