The Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava was founded in 1937. The Faculty of Civil Engineering is the largest engineering faculty at the University. Seventy years of education at the Faculty have produced more than 28000 graduates and 950 Ph.D. students. With its 295 university teachers and researchers, 22 vocational and theoretical departments and laboratories, Institute of Forensic Engineering, Computing Centre and Library and Information Centre, and approximately 4000 undergraduate students and 300 Ph.D. students it represents a significant educational and scientific research institution in Central Europe. The Faculty of Civil Engineering presently consists of 22 departments, Institute of Forensic Engineering, a Computing Centre and a Library and Information Centre. More than 550 employees make up the Faculty's staff, which consists of 37 professors, 85 associate professors, 195 teaching assistants and 37 research assistants. Currently enrolled at the Faculty are approximately 3000 undergraduate and 280 Ph.D. students. Degrees from the Faculty provide a passport to rewarding professional careers in civil engineering, architecture, geodesy and cartography.
