Conditions for applying

The basic condition of acceptance is secondary school graduation.

The document proving the above mentioned condition and all other required documents must be submitted by students by the date of study registration at the latest. For more information about the documents go to Required documents.

Students who cannot submit the needed documents until the specified date (see Deadlines) will be admitted conditionally. For these students a Conditional Acceptance Letter will be issued. This document should be sufficient when issuing legal matters (i.e. student visa, when applying for student accommodation, etc.). Regardless of the conditional admission, students are obligated to submit all the documents by the date of study registration.

Based on the Principles of the Entrance Exam for Bachelor Studies PDF, the Dean has the authority to decide about a possible cancellation of the entrance exam for certain study programmes. In the academic year 2021/2022 all students will be accepted without an entrance exam.

It is permitted to send one application form only, but you may apply for more study programmes. The first study programme is always of priority (the application fee will not change).

The application form is submitted electronically. Guidelines for filling in the application form are in the section How to apply.

Before choosing a dissertation topic, consulting with the supervisor or the study programme guarantor is recommended.

Students can be admitted to doctoral studies after passing the entrance exam consisting of two parts: one concentrating on English language skills and the other on a specific study and research area. In the admission process the results from previous studies and other additional activities (e.g. scientific-technical activities, etc.) will also be considered.

Both parts of the examination will be held at the same time in front of an examination board.  To pass the English language exam the applicant is supposed to present a framework project on the theme of their dissertation project in English.

The specialization exam consists of an oral verification of the applicant’s knowledge about the given field of studies (the theme of the dissertation thesis) and their aptitude for successful studies within the specialization.

The Examination Board will also consider additional activities of the applicant, e.g. participation in competitions such as the Student Scientific Conference, or in international student conferences as well as their publishing activities.

The Examination Board will prepare a list of order of applicants for each study programme.  This order will be based on the achieved points from the English language exam, the specialization exam, the results from their previous studies, and for other additional activities.
