On Thursday, June 12, 2025, we welcomed a 16-member delegation from Thailand's Phetchaburi Rajabhat University (PBRU) to the Faculty of Civil Engineering of STU. The meeting focused on discussing possibilities for mutual cooperation in both research and academic fields and signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
Representatives of both universities gathered at the meeting, which laid the foundations for future cooperation. The delegation from Phetchaburi Rajabhat University was led by its president, Professor Sanor Klinngam. He was accompanied by vice presidents, Professor Vichian Khemngen, associate professor Phatcharasak Arlai, doctor Kitsad Tangchawal and other members of the delegation. The Slovak University of Technology was represented by Vice-Rector Professor Štefan Stanko, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, STU Professor Katarína Gajdošová and Head of the Department of Hydraulic Engineering, SvF STU Professor Andrej Šoltész.

The meeting program focused on mutual introductions of both institutions, exchange of information on educational systems and teaching, implemented research projects and existing international partnerships. The aim was to identify common intersections and potential areas not only for mutual research or study stays, but also opportunities for joint research projects in the field of civil engineering and especially water management.
Finally, both parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding between PBRU and STU. This document declares the common interest of both institutions in strengthening friendly and cooperative relations, based on the principles of equality and mutual benefit. It places special emphasis on partnership in the field of research and academic exchange. The Memorandum is an important step towards supporting and developing productive cooperation that will benefit students, teachers and researchers of both institutions.
