Strengthening of concrete structures

 Research focus 

• The research covers strengthening with both traditional structural materials and FRP applications. In the case of traditional structural materials, flat slabs with additionally inserted shear reinforcement and additionally cast reinforced concrete overlays were tested, as well as beams strengthened with additionally cast reinforced concrete overlays with composite behaviour.

• In the field of using FRP materials in strengthening existing concrete structures, research focuses mainly on the use of CFRP strips and CF sheets to strengthen structures suspected to bending, shear, compression and combinations of these actions.
