The Department of Architecture provides a comprehensive architectural education, in­cluding the technical, artistic, special theoreti­cal, and engineering disciplines, and design of different building types for residential, com­mercial, social, industrial, agricultural and trans­port facilities. The Department's work also in­volves housing renewal, the preservation of historical monuments, interior design, urban planning and landscape design.

The Department's research activities are de­voted to general methods for the philosophy of the revitalisation of the countryside, analy­sis of traditional technologies and materials and possibilities for their utilisation today, de­tailed studies of regional architectural forms and construction principles and their applica­tion to contemporary architecture, surveys of local activities and their spatial and construc­tion demands concerning buildings, and de­veloping strategies and supporting economic and energy self-sufficiency.
